Jaisalmer Tourism

Come to Jaisalmer. Do it with Kakuji Travels.

Don’t just land here, click photos, and tick it off a list. That’s not Jaisalmer. With us, you actually get to feel the place.

Yeah, everyone signifies it as Golden City. Roam around it at sunrise or sunset and you’ll witness why. The whole town’s built from yellow sandstone and when the light hits it, the walls perceived like they’re on fire. First time you will feel as if you are stopped dead in the middle of the road.

Jaisalmer sits right in the Thar. Desert in every direction. Inside, you’ve got a fort people still live in, lanes so narrow your shoulders brush the walls, havelis carved to death, and dunes that go on forever. You don’t forget it once you’ve been.

What’s worth your time?

View from Jaisalmer Fort

Jaisalmer Fort

UNESCO stamp, sure. But forget that. Real people live inside. Walk through and it’s just life — 800-year-old Jain temple next to a kid selling silver anklets. Someone’s drying saris on a balcony. Boys smacking a tennis ball down a lane. Every corner smells like chai. It’s noisy. It’s chaos. Exactly how it should be.

Patwon Ki Haveli in Jaisalmer

The Havelis

Built by merchants. Made to be seen. Patwon Ki Haveli is huge. Straight up showing off. Salim Singh Ki Haveli — look up. The roof curves like a peacock’s neck. And the favorite’s Nathmal Ki Haveli. Two brothers built it. Left side and right side don’t match, and they did that on purpose. Better for it.

Camel at Sam Sand Dunes

The Desert

This is the reason you came. Sam or Khuri, doesn’t matter. Get on a camel when the sky goes orange. After, it’s eaten by a fire. Someone from around here plays music. Then you lie back. No street lights. Just stars — way too many to count. Want speed? We’ll hit the dunes in a jeep. Want to sleep out there? We’ve got tents. Real beds, not those saggy camp cots. You choose.

Should you even go to Jaisalmer?

Yeah. If you like old towns, the fort’s got stories. If you like photos, your phone will be full by day two. Coming with your partner? We’ll set up dinner in the dunes, just you two. Got kids? They won’t stop talking about the camel. It works for everyone.

Why Kakuji Travels?

Because this is home. We don’t search “top 10 things to do in Jaisalmer.” We already know. We know the rooftop at Gadisar Lake where tourists don’t go. We know which guy in the bazaar sells good juttis and won’t rip you off. We know where the music is real, not the stuff they play for tour buses.

What Kakuji actually do:

• Your Trip, Your Way Honeymoon. Family getaway. Solo escape. Friends’ adventure. Tell us what you want.

• Where you sleep: Old haveli with walls three feet thick and cool rooms. Or a tent in the desert where you’ll actually sleep well.

• Dune trips: Camels, jeeps. One price. No last-minute “tax” when you’re sandy and tired.

• Our people: Guides born here. They don’t read from a script. They tell you what their grandfather told them.

We give you the price upfront. That’s it. No surprises. And we don’t run copy-paste trips. Hate those.

What you’ll actually do here:

Ditch the map. Walk. Step into temples. Bargain for a ring. Get lost, then find your way out. That’s the best part.

Sam Sand Dunes

Sam Sand Dunes

Camel ride at sunset. Non-negotiable. Then dinner, music, maybe sleep under the sky. Do it once at least.

The Havelis in Jaisalmer

The Havelis

Go to Patwon and Salim Singh. Put your hand on the carvings. 200 years old and still sharp. It’s insane.

Gadisar Lake

Gadisar Lake

Get there early. No one around. Water’s like glass. Temples look back at you from it. Take a boat or just sit.

Jaisalmer bazaars

Bazaars

Color everywhere. Fabrics, silver, leather. You will buy something. Stop for chai or your feet will give up.

Kakuji Travels

We don’t do fixed itineraries. Want big hotels and all the main spots? Done. Want to skip crowds and eat where locals eat? Also done. Tight budget? We know how to make it good without making it feel cheap.

Kakuji Travels isn’t some big office. It’s me and my people. We’ve been doing this for years. Change your mind and decide you want to see Kuldhara tomorrow? Call me. My phone’s on. I’ll pick up.

Jaisalmer’s not going anywhere. But the good tents and the quiet sunset spots? Those fill up. Message us. We will organize a memorable trip for you to talk about when you’re old.
